Indigo Audio produced journalist Jessica Leeder's narration and provided a voice-over for The Globe and Mail's acclaimed series on the plight of women in Afghanistan. Behind the Veil received a News Documentary Emmy Award, an EPpy Award for Best Web Special Feature and was also nominated for a National Newspaper Award.

Executive Producer: Irene Spadafora

Irene has an extensive background as a producer in radio, interactive media and film. She has worked in educational, entertainment, corporate and documentary styles -- the ideal combination of skills and experience to produce podcasts.
Irene was an audio producer and performed voice-overs on the Emmy Award winning News/Documentary series Behind the Veil and the acclaimed multimedia documentary series Dear Sweetheart. While working as producer and narrator for the Globe and Mail's Facts and Arguments podcasts for 2 years, the show earned number #1 ranking in Personal Essay podcasts on ITunes. She was a writer and host for the Canadian Broadcast Sales CBS Report. Her voice-over and podcast production credits include promotions, ads and e-learning scripts for Random House, The University Health Network, The Chronicle Herald, Lavalife and Sheena's Place.

Irene was a producer on the nationally syndicated show Radio Heartbeat, winner of the Best Private Radio Program at The National Radio Awards. She was also a co-creator and producer of the popular phone-in talk show Telepersonal Radio in Toronto and Montreal. She has hosted radio shows on: CFRB, Talk 640AM, CKLN, CIQC and was a guest speaker on the CBC radio show Definitely Not the Opera. Other voice-over credits include e-learning modules, podcasts, radio commercials and phone systems.

For over a decade, she was a producer, scriptwriter, voice artist and Team Leader of Customer Research and Product Hosting at Lavalife Inc. She created an interactive talk show on Lavalife by Voice which increased critical mass, customer conversion and created an enthusiastic on-line community. She also developed tutorials and entertainment features, conducted market research, on-line surveys and supported all product launches, upgrades and special events - on time and on budget. She was Lavalife's qualitative market research specialist for their voice products. And, as an IVR marketing expert, she redesigned and produced Lavalife's phone testimonials for North America which successfully increased customer awareness and conversion.

As a published writer, Irene's stories have appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, and the Internet. Her works have been shortlisted for a book anthology by Meadowbrook Press. Film and radio credits include scriptwriter and story editor for documentaries and short films, and her notable role as co-producer on the short film “Amplifier” a finalist at The Hollywood Film Festival and the winner of the Best Sci-fi Short Film at New York International Independent Film Festival.
